In the hills of northwest Austin, a former Holiday Inn has been reinvented as the DoubleTree by Hilton Austin Northwest—Arboretum. John Greenleaf, global head of DoubleTree by Hilton, noted that the newly redesigned property is the brand’s fourth in Greater Austin.
The new hotel is under the ownership of 8901 Austin Hotel L.L.C. and managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management. Located at 8901 Business Park Drive, the hotel is near major employers like IBM, Apple, and AT&T, with access to I-35, outdoor malls, the University of Texas, and downtown Austin. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is 18 miles away.
The 194-key hotel has undergone a multimillion-dollar revamp of its lobby, guest rooms, furnishings, and outdoor pool. Also new are the Centre Lounge bar and the Overlook restaurant, plus expanded meeting and event space, now totaling 7,200 square feet. The space can be configured for large events or divided into as many as seven rooms.
